Tall fescue is the number one grass in our area. It is deep-rooted, drought tolerant and as low maintenance as you can get. Plan to plant it in places with at least four hours of direct sun daily, and it will stay green for most of the year. Yard Works offers a tall fescue blend, Class Act 2 , Which is found on Virginia Tech’s list of excellent seeds for our area. Little to no weed content and very good germination rates make Class Act 2 a very popular product.
